I oversee the daily management of a 20 bed dementia specialist residential home. I deal with all aspects of care delivery, regulated activities and managing a team of 46 staff members.
I am learning to be able to self reflect in greater depth and understand and put into practice effective change management processes.
Thoroughly enjoy the programme. We are moving at a pace that I am comfortable with, in a manner that meets my learning style and this has allowed me to enjoy what I am learning instead of feeling that it is being forced upon me as a requirement of my role.
The structure of of the course is progressive and building upon my previous knowledge.
My employer is very supportive and available to help me with all aspects of completing this qualification.
I have regular contact with my training provider via email, telephone and online meetings. My assessor is available to answer questions and provides regular encouragement and supportive actions to help me stay on target.
This qualification is mandatory in my role and supports all aspects of managing staff, providing care and support to staff and residents. It builds on a solid foundation of experience that I already have and gives my experiences validation.
I have a number of professional networking opportunities that I can take advantage of if required.
