Managing sub-contractor accounts, submitting application for payments to the Client, keeping track of these applications and any rejections getting them turned around
Developed management skills, leading skills and negotiation skills
I love the programme; it helps me look at things from a different perspective and helps me transfer my skills into my day to day role which helps my own progression and my teams development
Very well organised and structured, always know what we are working on for our block weeks and every session is well planned out ahead of schedule
I feel like I receive more support from Sheffield Hallam than my direct employer. With a high turnover in staff and with my Manager leaving in the past 6 months this has had a great impact on my support network
Lots of support, very happy with the support. I feel like I can go to them with any problem I am experiencing and they are happy to help
It gives me time to reflect on my role and day to day tasks and see them in a different light which then enables me to work through problems I may have previously experienced more effectively and efficiently
Not that I am aware of. There are the odd charity awareness days that we have been involved in previously but no social activities or sports teams
No
In my personal experience within the Utilities arm of Kier, I do not feel Kier respect, support or appreciate their staff. You can see that in the high turnover of staff over the past year; no one has really stepped up to look into the problems of why people are leaving and what can be done to keep and retain good staff
Consider all your options before taking the plunge
