I work with supporting claims within the hair category. I research how different products affect different hair types and how different hair types act in different conditions. I use a range of equipment and methods within my research. I work both lone and within a team discussing and analysing results.
I have learnt how to use so much equipment and methods for analysing different hair types. I have also learnt how to analyse data from many different data sets which has helped with my university studies. I have also learnt more time management skills and sticking to a deadline which has helped me a lot.
I enjoy the programme very much. I have one day a week in which I use to do my academic work but with the other four days in the week I am on the job learning lots of new skills I would never be learning from university alone. I enjoy having new tasks to do daily as it challenges me.
My programme is very well organised. I have a line manager who constantly helps me with my work and gives me structure and challenges me. The university side is well structured as I know what I need to do each week and it is well planned out and easy to understand.
I receive a large amount of support from my line manager not only with work but also university. He will help me if I ever need help with my research and will always guide me in the best direction. He also supports me with my university work giving me time to study for exams and giving me time to complete my work.
The university give us lots of resources to learn from which helps greatly. They also help and answer emails very quick and are always at hand to help. We have many opportunities to show what we have learnt through quizzes, assignments and exams which we are supported with during revision.
The university course helps me understand my job role better. As it is a chemistry degree it helps me understand the chemistry behind the bonds within the hair and the chemistry behind the products used on the hair. It also helped me understand how equipment should be used and looked after properly.
