My job title is a software developer. I am currently working on client site performing a mix of tasks. My first task is a PMO for the project which involves general tasks to help to project manager and team (including doing all financials for the project). The second role that I perform is doing development work on the new SAP BW on HANA system that we are installing.
I have learnt lots of new skills in the SAP area as I had never worked with this tool before and therefore was starting from scratch. I am also developing many other skills (time-keeping, organisation, communication skills) through general project activities and working closely with the client.
I thoroughly enjoy my working environment. I get on well with the project team that I work with and they are always happy to help as I develop my skills.
I feel very valued by Capgemini. If I ever have any questions or require support then I am confident about asking for it as I know it will be provided.
The programme has been well organised to date. I had some confusion when I first started my diploma but this was quickly sorted. I am already receiving information about the next stage of my programme.
Throughout my diploma I haven't received as much support as I would have thought. However, I haven't really needed any help as have progressed through the units myself.
I feel that I have received a lot of support from my employer, especially with the work that I have been doing on my project. The team around me are experienced and are happy to share this.
My current salary package is fantastic. As I work away, I am able to live on expenses where I work. This means that I have very few outgoing costs. The salary is very good for this stage of my career.
I occasionally get invites through the news letters to attend charity events or other activities that are taking place through the company. There is also the option to attend social events to network with other people in the company.

The fact that you get a degree, work experience and the contacts without having to suffer the debt of university makes it a fantastic opportunity.
Learn about the company, where it is based and who its clients are. Be prepared to travel as this is going to happen. Be confident in yourself and friendly on all of the stages of applying.
