Day to day I deal with contracts including NDA's, MTA's and studentships to facilitate science and innovation projects. I also raise purchase orders and I am in charge of a newsletter that is published to all of AstraZeneca.
I have certainly developed contract drafting skills and business knowledge throughout my apprenticeship so far. I have also gained a level of professionalism which I hadn't had before, for example the way in which I email people at work is very formal.
My team is always very helpful and AstraZeneca is a great place to work. The degree is manageable and easily accessible and I enjoy the content.
My training has been very full on as not only am I doing a degree, I have been on several different courses about intellectual property and contract drafting. Overall I have a very thorough training plan which will set me up for work past my apprenticeship.
My manager is very supportive always. He allows for the correct amount of 'of the job' training which is very good. He gives me many opportunities such as project managing different activities and giving me more responsibilities as my apprenticeship progresses.
I have 3 monthly catch ups with my apprenticeship advisor -she is very helpful and answers any questions I may have.
There are definitely many aspects of my course that have helped me in the work place. Operations management, supply chain management and global business management are three modules that have helped me perform better.
At the beginning of my apprenticeship I was involved in the social apprentices club. This was a great icebreaker to get started in my role and meet other apprentices.
Yes
Its a great place to work. Not only that but the benefits are amazing such as private medical care. There are many opportunities at AstraZeneca such as training and mentorships to help improve your skills.
When applying make sure that you incorporate AstraZeneca's leadership principles in your CV. Be confident at the interview but at the same time don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions if you are not sure at the interview.
