I am currently working within Operate which is a large part of PwC Northern Ireland. I am currently working within client acceptance and help the firm with the onboarding of new clients. This works very closely with Risk Management. Through this I am working with teams all across the UK and further afield.
Yes I have learnt a range of new skills so far within my journey. Most notably my communication and ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders within the organisation has really increased. Going to university has really helped this and being able to have a better understanding of my own personal development.
I really enjoy the program, I feel really valued and welcomed in my team and I believe that my management really want me to get the most from my experience. The culture where I work is great and there is an importance on self care and looking after yourself. This includes flexible working.
It is very well structured from the start where you complete the onboarding induction and training right through the university program. Even though I am not established in the program there is a career coach who manages the workload between work and uni and offers support as when it is needed.
I get a lot of support from my employer in a range of ways, there is management in my team who look after me, there is a career coach who is a point of contact for the HLA program and then a management team looking after the whole program and cohort.
I receive a lot of support from the trainer provider who really cares about the cohort and how we are all progressing, this is very important! The tutors are approachable and friendly and will resolve any issues. I really enjoy my days at university because of all of this. Thank you
I fully do believe that my qualification through UU really helps me perform better in my role. The course content is fully linked and related to what I do every day in work and this allows for collaboration and sharing of skills. The content ensures I am knowledge and supported in the workplace.
Yes there is a range of extra curricular activities within the work place and also at the university and even though I am a part time student I am encouraged to join and get involved. The university has a brand new campus which has so much to do in it!
Yes
PwC is a great place to work and start your career because there is such a good support system to ensure that you get the most out of your time and that you feel supported in the work place. I would fully recommend PwC to anyone considering a degree apprenticeship.
My advice would be to get the most out of the experience and trust the process. There is a team in place and who will make sure that you are looked after well and know what you are doing so really enjoy the start of your experience and do not worry.
