On a day to day basis I participate in daily standups, outlining what we do each day. Then we go off and solve our problems we are working on, sometimes as a team, and sometimes individually. This could be anything from a piece of programming, to research into a business decision.
In my summer placement at PwC, I learnt how to code in Go Lang, and also learnt about Kubernetes. I recently have developed existing skills in excel when managing data and organising the different investment streams around the firm. This has been done in a team environment, developing my business skills.
I really enjoy my programme. Out of 10 I'd easily give it a 9 or a 10. Its very enjoyable as every day is different so never feels boring. I do miss university from working, as its very different lifestyle, but enjoy going into the office regularly as well.
Its very organised, as it is run centrally by the PwC team and the Uni of Birmingham team combined so there is always constant communication between them and to us. So we always know what we are doing and what is going on with our programme, particularly when we are at work.
PwC provide lots of support, this is in the form a Buddy, who is there for more informal chats, a Career Coach, to discuss your working goals and ambitions, and finally a Line Manager, who is the one to give you work on a day to day basis when you need stuff to do.
Pwc have a set amount of funding per a employee to pay for their training and qualifications. In my instance they provided me with support in a Blockchain certification and giving me the time to complete this and become a certified Blockchain expert and can now put this on my CV
We have constant feedback that always allows us to improve in our current roles, meaning we are always looking for areas to improve in our day to day jobs. My uni qualification provides me with the tech expertise in my day to day to know what I'm doing
There hasn't been as much activities due to covid, however I know PwC have many different groups, communities of interest and other ways of getting involved. I have joined a Crypto Community within PwC. I hope to join a football team when this is back up and running again.

PWC are very helpful to all their apprentices and look after everyone. I feel very safe and looked after which is good as many jobs you can feel job security. I would encourage anyone to do this degree apprenticeship with PwC as you get the perfect balance of uni and working life.
Be yourself in the interview as this will help you more, as in chat to the interviewer normally. The online games/assessments are tricky as they are analysing how you think. In the group assessment days make sure to be loud, and bring others into the conversation throughout the session.
