Unfortunately, I am on a degree apprenticeship and I haven't been on placement yet with them. However, from the little work I have done some volunteering for my company which has included helping at schools and on environmental projects. On a day to day basis I will be solving problems for clients.
I have developed many skills over the period of working for PwC. I have personally developed skills which include leadership, team work listening and many other essential skills for working within a team and with clients. I have also worked on my public speaking skills as I found this previously difficult.
I really enjoy my programme at the University of Birmingham. It is really insightful into the world of Computer Science and they have helped me thoroughly when needed as well as given me the opportunity to practice the theories I've learnt in real world situations like when we are given group tasks,
The programme I am on at the University of Birmingham is extremely structured. They have given us detailed timetables of when our lectures, seminars and in person meetings are. The structured timetable really helps when it comes to organising your work and I personally think that the University does a great job when it comes to this topic.
I have not had to ask much from my employer so far however from what I have heard, PwC provides a great service when it comes to supporting their employees. There is multiple services like help and chat lines which are open 24/7 as well as everyone having a personal career coach.
PwC themselves do not provide training towards my qualification. It is the Universities job to teach me the theories of Computer Science. However, they do provide the necessary skills to do my job efficiently and correctly. This will be provided closer to the time of placement as it is not extremely necessary right now.
I'll put it this way. Without the training from the University, I would not be able to complete my work as well as with it. I need to learn the theories of Computer Science to fully understand the work I have to complete in the day to day job.
Absolutely. There is a lot of clubs and work activities to get involved in including 5 aside football and many other sports. If you also cannot find the sport or activity that your looking for, there is an option to create your own. I think PwC offer a great range of activites.
Yes
I would recommend PwC to every friend as they care about their employees. This really matters to me and it should. As well as this, they provide top quality service to the footsie 500 companies. They are an incredible company who also gives you a career coach and really listens to your opinions.
I think to apply to PwC, you should be friendly, willing to contribute and listen and also be able to work on your own / in a team. I would also give the advice that you should be open to other people's opinions. Employees also need to understand and stick to the PwC professional.
