The role allows you to rotate into different teams throughout the apprenticeship. This gives me the opportunity to experience a range of different tasks on a daily basis. I work with the L&D and marketing team on a daily basis to help attract external candidates and internal employees to join learning programs.
UBS really encourage apprentices to network with employees across the business. This has helped me become more confident in my role and understand how different parts of the business operates. It has also helped me develop my IT skills in Excel/Word, which are fundamental programs a lot of roles use on a daily basis.
I enjoy my program due to the high amount of support that I gain on a daily basis from my colleagues and the amount of responsibility I was given from the very start. I have enjoyed building relationships in my team as well as enjoying the work that I am given.
I would say that the programme is very well structured due to the opportunity for rotation into different teams. My line manager makes sure that I get exposure to different teams so that I can get a wider insight into HR to find out what I enjoy the most, and to experience areas that I will enjoy.
I receive a lot of support from UBS. Myh line manager and I have regular check ins to monitor my programs and look at my development areas. I also have a buddy in my team who I have daily check ins with where I am allocated work and receive feedback on a daily basis regarding the tasks I complete.
I have monthly check ins with my learning coach where my assignments can be checked to make sure that I am progressing in the learning side of my apprenticeship. I also have weekly classes with my cohort where we are taught the content that we are provided from the learning platform.
The modules on my apprenticeship help me have a different outlook on my role to consider different ways of approaching my tasks. I haven't seen this in full light yet as I have not completed the full apprenticeship. However, the more I learn I believe the more I will apply my theoretical knowledge to the practical HR environment.
We have the opportunity to attend networking events at the office to build relationships with employees across the business. We are also allocated 2 volunteering days where UBS provide us with volunteering opportunities across schools and charities. I have also joined a range of employee networks where external speakers arrange events.

UBS really care about your learning and development. They encourage you to continue your learning post apprenticeship and are focused on investing in your development in the business. It is also a great opportunity to meet new friends as apprentices are hired in large cohorts. It is a great business to kick start your career.
I would encourage people applying to research the business (specifically the business area you are applying for). Also, practice competency based interview question, as the interview consists of a lot of them types of questions. Finally, be yourself in the interview. Everyone is friendly and they want you to do well.
