I am a personal assistant where I regularly monitor emails and keep an electronic diary up to date. I am also responsible for other general admin duties, such as booking and minuting meetings, arranging events and providing senior management support.
Communication, ICT, confidence and ability to speak out in larger groups of senior staff. I also completed a Level 3 apprenticeship in Business Admin where I achieved a distinction. I have been on several training courses provided by work, such as minuting and mental health awareness.
No two days are ever the same. I also enjoy collaborating with various colleagues on several events. There is also a great networking set-up, such as weekly cake club and coffee mornings where I can engage and get to know my colleagues.
Very well, I am able to balance my work/study lifestyle by blocking out time in my diary. My manager is also very supportive of my study time and understands the importance.
My employer is extremely supportive and keen for me to do well within my course. My manager often provides guidance and regularly keeps track of where I am up to.
My tutors have office hours where we can ask them any questions relating to the assigments. I have also had good responses from lecturers when querying something about the course.
I can relate what I'm studying directly to the work I am doing. I have also been advised that for units outside of my day to day role, I can have release time to work within these sectors around site.
There are lots of networking events, coffee mornings, cake clubs, sports sessions.
Yes
STFC is very supportive of my work and have my best interests in consideration.
Make sure you have plenty of examples to give during the interview process. The application process was straight forward and I had feedback almost straight away.
