Preparing classes and supporting lecturers. Providing technical support for students at undergraduate to postgraduate level.
Learnt about agricultural testing and embalming techniques.
The course content is good but not possible to fit in the 20% protected time.
Structure is very inflexible due to work and life commitments studies can be hard to fit into the structured timetable meaning I have not been able to take time out at any point in the 3 years since starting the course.
My employer very is supportive especially HR with any issues with the course, however the experience of the team is not closely aligned to staff's knowledge therefore they are unable to offer any advice with more academic aspects.
Most tutors are supportive and are able to answer any queries or signpost me to where I can find answers. It has been enjoyable this year discussing work and having more webinars with the lecturers and having the access to their support.
The qualification has helped me to understand some technical principles underlying in the role so depth of understanding has improved but a large bulk of the course doesn't link directly to my role but could be useful for other future careers.
Social events have been limited due to covid and are generally more geared towards students rather than staff members. There have been other events that are more geared towards CPD and I attend where possible.
Yes
