  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Every day is a surprise! but my role typically consists of general HR administration, managing personnel files, assisting with recruitment, supporting the HR Manager, dealing with people related queries and promoting training & development. I have also been given the opportunity to support the businesses' sustainability strategy!

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since joining Troup Bywaters + Anders I have developed both personally & professionally. I have improved my communication skills, working with people at different levels across the business and getting involved in a variety of projects. I have also developed my organisational skills by learning to effectively manage my apprenticeship & workload.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in HR (Level 3) and a Higher Apprenticeship in HR Management (Level 5). I thoroughly enjoyed both Apprenticeships and couldn't have completed these without the support from my colleagues who are always on hand to help.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticeships were fairly well structured and I had a lot of support from my employer and training provider. I also found it really beneficial completing my course alongside other students in a similar role to me as we were able to exchange experiences.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There has always been someone on hand to support me, whether this be my line manager, mentor, training provider or other colleagues. I had regular catch ups with my line manager and quarterly reviews with my apprenticeship training provider to review my progress.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received lots of support while working towards my qualification from by both my employer and training provider. I was able to contact my training & development officer on a regular basis with any questions I had regarding my assignments or the qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have been able to demonstrate the knowledge I have learned from my qualification in my day to day work. I have been able to develop my skills and apply what I have learned to gain more experience in my role.
