I am in my first year of the program so I have not had my summer placement with PWC yet. The Apprenticeship is like regular Uni life except you get paid for it (more free time with no job). I attend a weekly informational live sessions PWC host about worklife.
As i haven't been on placement I haven't had any additional opportunities to develop new skills. However, they do have buddies on the program who are there to advice you if you are ever stuck.
I'm loving the program so far, everyone is extremely friendly in my course and I have no complaints at all.
The onboarding process, once being accepted was fairly confusing to be honest but apart from that everything has been very well structured. There was a clash with our Uni timetable and the PWC Live Informational Sessions but Pwc were able to quickly work with our uni to work around it.
I currently haven't made use of any of the support tools they provide, however, I did receive a laptop from them when I started which has been really helpful for note taking in Uni lectures.
The course has been fairly straight forward and we receive emails about additional support frequently. Due to the course going online due to the pandemic, it has been a bit confusing as Lecturers all have different systems of providing notes and videoing lectures.
As I am yet to go on placement I am unsure how useful this will be in my role. However, I have been able to learn a lot of new skills as well as consolidate both skills and information I had previously learned.
There has been 1 PwC social event in this academic year, there was meant to be a Christmas Dinner but unfortunately the pandemic postponed it until later this year. Id love for PwC to organise more social events for the TDAs, as its a great to socialise with other TDAs.
Yes
It's a great way to have more free time to focus on your Uni work, still have a Uni Life and not worry about how you afford it all. You'll be in a great position once out of Uni compared to those who didn't choose the apprenticeship.
Ensure you know all about the course and PwC values. Don't dominate conversations when in the group interview. Prepare well for the Interviews and you'll do well.
