During This apprenticeship your day to day work is varied and always different. You may spend the day attending meetings and events or programming a solution to a task. To a degree you are also able to plan your own day's structure and there is flexibility as long as you get your work done.
There are constant training opportunities which I took advantage of. There are plenty options and you can choose the ones most suited to you. If you find another skill you want to develop or learn that isn't currently available, managers are always willing to help you in any way to develop the area.
I really enjoyed the placement. I learnt so much and got involved in a wide range of things. Although it got a bit repetitive at times, I found that if you are getting bored or feel unchallenged, you can contact a team manager and they are always willing to help you find things to do that interest you.
I think it is very well structured. I like the fact that you can be a normal student during the term and in summer is when you work. I feel like this way I can get the best of both worlds. I can gain valuable work experience while also gaining the student experience.
For whatever you need, there is always someone from the central team you can contact. You will receive responses so quickly. Even so, all the employees within the organisation are also always free to help and support no matter their rank. This is something I love and take advantage of.
I received a good amount of support. From presentations and advice, they really encouraged me to gain qualification. If I found certain topics hard, There was always someone I could contact to help me through it. I also found that they pushed me to carry out work tasks that would help with my training so I could really develop them
The training we undertook at the start formed the basis of our day to day tasks whilst on placement. Without this, I wouldn't have performed as well/ engaged as much within the placement. The fact I did other training as well meant I could apply new ideas and really have valuable impact in my team.
There are so many! There is always something. Virtual or in person you are always able to engage with others. So many regular reminders and invitations are sent through email such that you have so much choice. There is definitely something for everyone. What I also like is that from the moment you join, anyone can participate and there are always a mix of formal and informal events
Yes
Before joining, I saw PWC as an accounting firm nothing more. What I have found is that they are so much more than that. It's such a diverse and welcoming organisation that really values you as well as your health, including mental health. There is never a shortage of opportunities and they want to help and assist you in anyway they can. Everyone is so friendly and wants to see you succeed. It is very team based which I love.
Don't sell yourself short and don't be put off by how big and professional the firm is. They really value everyone and look to give as many people as possible a fair chance. Make sure you do your research about PwC too and try and learn as much as you can about them.
