I am an information manager apprentice where I deal with multiple clients and help assist them in any problems on the technical side of project management.
I am learnt many new skills but one which is notable is confidence. The confidence to ask your line manager or project manager who have worked many years is a bit daunting as I've just started my career but everyone is very helpful.
I enjoy my programme to a large extent as both the company I work for and the course provider are very helpful and supportive.
It is structured very well. As an apprentice, I am working 80% at my company and 20% with my course provider. As I only go college twice a month, I get another two days paid from my company to help contribute to my college (Writing my coursework).
As mentioned previously, My company are very supportive of not just myself but many other apprentices. If there are any problems, there are multiple pathways and people in my company which I can talk with.
Please see mentioned above.
It helps a lot as there are a lot of modules to go through and understand how the role I am acting as right now helps in the project.
LinkedIn is very helpful and allowed me to network wider. I actually partake in a weekly football session with colleagues after work. Furthermore, I am Muslim and don't drink however the company support this and we actually go to places such as flight club to accommodate everyone.
Yes
It is an amazing company to work for with a large range of benefits and a very competitive salary. It is a great place to network and meet new people.
Don't think and apply. Do your research properly and you will realise how much of a global, corporate company Arup really is. Benefits are amazing along with the salary and work will get hard however everyone is there to support you.
