I work on various project in my role. These projects have the aim to deliver cost/time saving benefits to the customers we have locally and across other sites. This can involve defining projects, defining requirements, assisting in solution development and the final review of projects. I also carry out standard work to assist with the running of IT systems.
I have learnt a lot of new skills in my role, including how to communicate better with customers as this is crucial to ensuring that they have given you the complete list of what they want. I have also learnt how to manage my workload and prioritise the most important tasks in my role.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my program. It has helped me to develop socially as well as academically, and I feel very comfortable taking the lead on projects. I have also made great friends from my site apprenticeship scheme as well as from my education, and I enjoy my work on a day to day basis.
The program has been very well organised so far, in terms of how this has worked on site it has been great as I have had my own area to complete studies without distractions at my usual desk, and in terms of the education provider this has been excellent too.
I have received a lot of support from my employer. I have had the opportunity to have a dedicated day per week where I am in the apprentice learning room which enables me to focus completely on my studies. I always have someone I can ask if I need help.
My provider has provided me with great support. This has mainly been in the form of a skills coach who worked with me in order to give me a full understanding of the business analyst role. As she has had previous experience in this role it has helped me massively with my comprehension of the various themes in the course.
My qualification has been of great use as it has enabled me to gain a much better array of tools in terms of the whole project process. This could be in accurately defining requirements, all the way to closing out the project and reviewing the goals defined in the pre-project work and seeing if the delivered solution met these objectives.
Yes I frequently meet with the apprentices who were recruited within my enrollment year to catch up and see how they are doing in their roles. We have also had big trips away within work and outside of work where all the apprentices from all the previous years can go.
Yes
Yes I would strongly recommend Syngenta as the work is stimulating and you can see what you are doing is making a difference on site. As well as this the work life balance of the role is excellent and the holiudays you get a very generous, so your life isn't all work.
I would recommend others applying to be completely honest in their applications for any roles on site. We value trust a lot and if you make a mistake there is no shame in holding your hand up but there is in lying about what has happened. This culture should be shared by anyone applying for a role here.
