I am an apprentice supervisor at Iceland Hornchurch, my duty involves me to get the shop ready for trade in the morning, making sure the tills are out, shop is tidy and clean. I’m involved in running the daily operations, dealing with customer complaints and making sure it’s run smoothly.
Yes I have adopted many new skills like doing the fire drills, cash count at end of day, cash collection, leading a rumble, doing rotas for staff, accepting deliveries, doing the rag sheets, temperature control checks, product counts, leading a team, achieving target and budgets for the month, driving the online availability to 99.5%
Extremely enjoying the programme as I’m constantly learning new skills and developing existing skills. Enjoying the reading and the depths of knowledge gained from the modules I’m doing. Growing my knowledge and my skills which is impacting my team members in a good way. The most is enjoying the unity that is gained from this programme.
Very well, I like the fact that there are activities to be done at the end of each modules and to complete a knowledge test at end of modules. The knowledge and study is extremely useful as it is broken down into a very structured programme. Extremely happy with the organisation.
I receive a huge amount of help from my employer, my manager has been there through out my highs and low giving and showing me the skills needed to better myself. The area manager has also given me the opportunity to progress and develop the required skills and knowledge. It’s a great place to work for
