  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would so it is well organised and structured as they have planned it so each unit can take a month to study and then report back each month. It really helps me this way as I feel motivated to keep going with the units and the programme as we get regular check ins to ensure we are doing it right.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps a lot as I can take everything I have learnt into my role at work. I have a much wider frame of knowledge now about little things it takes to run a business and store such as finance, customer care and environmental factors. I have got a lot of knowledge which I haven’t been able to gain through years and experience

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are usually professional networking events where people from other stores can meet each other after work and outside of work which is helpful to see how other stores are ran and what it would be like to work in another store. We also have charity events where we can run them outside of the store.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Iceland to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because I feel the staff are very well respected and appreciated at the stores I have seen and in the stores I have seen they always have a good team built in the employees. I do like working there because of the team I have which is really nice to work with.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland?
  • Show off your qualities of customer interaction and care and show that you know how to communicate with all types of communication. It helps to demonstrate your skills and let them know everything you can already do even if you haven’t worked in retail before as a lot of skills are exchangeable.
