My role as a SCA is to ensure the running of the floor, administering medication, update carr plans and risk assessments, arranging appointments, transport and any other needs of our residents, ensuring safe work practices.
The skills I developed throughout my course allowed me a better understanding of carrying out risk assessments and understanding personalised care plans, it also was a great English and maths refresher
I enjoyed my programme very much and my tutor was outstanding, she was there to offer a helping hand and helped me gain confidence when speaking about my job role, it was an A* for me
I felt it was structured very well, being set tasks and times to complete the tasks, I never felt overwhelmed with the work load and was able to complete pieces without stress
I felt there could have been more support, however my tutor was so great and supportive, I never needed much support from my employer
My training provider was fantastic, I can’t speak highly enough of her, she was always an email, phone call or text away, no matter when I needed guidance
My qualification 100% has added to my job role, I’ve gained a much better insight into my job role and it has helped me to be an even better carr assistant than I was before
I am unwary of anything extra available
Yes
We offer a high standard of care and it’s nice to work with a set of people and company that genuinely love and care for the residents
Be your natural self, it’s important to have a high level of patience and understanding in our job role, to always be kind and able to adjust to all types of personalities
