Every Morning I have a catch-up meeting with my line manager about what is on the agenda and what needs to be completed today, planning out my day. In just a short time in the team, I have been lucky to work on many different tasks, so every day allows me to learn different skills. I also have a role managing the volunteering hub which consists of contacting organisers, creating advertisements, and trying to set up volunteering opportunities. It’s helping me to learn about people and opportunities outside of the construction sector.
Recently, I have been creating a lot of Excel spreadsheets. I’ve actually found this really interesting and it’s something I enjoy practicing. What interests me most is how versatile a tool it can be – if you use the system in the right way, it can make things so much easier.
The best thing to me is the opportunity to be exposed to such a megaproject at such an early time in my career. This gives me more time to learn from my mistakes as well as soak up tactics, techniques, knowledge, and experience from all the expertise on the project. I think that being on this project will mean I’m guaranteed to get the opportunity to implement my learning and perfect it.
I am surrounded by fully planned structure and support so i am never lost and any problems will always be quickly resolved
The max amount of support .
I have been lucky enough to be given a great training provider as well as receiving a lot of help to achieve my qualification
We always have many social events as well as many volunteering events. COVID-19 has blocked out some opportunities such as sport or team activities however this is something we are also supported with.
Yes
Because its has allowed me to secure a future for myself which can benefit a lot more people then just myself.
Be yourself.
