I work in a team that revolves around data analysis. My role is to help run and create many different types of reports that provide valuable insight into all sorts of customer and client data. I have reports that need to be ran, daily, weekly and monthly and have contractual agreements that these are ran within timeframes.
I have learnt many new skills in my role while also improving on some I already had. For example Excel is an extremely valuable tool in my role and I have greatly increased my ability on that since joining. I have learnt how to use many other software's such as Access, Avaya and Horizon and also looked at software's such as SQL.
I really enjoyed the program as it allowed me to meet lots of new people and also gain a qualification while working full time. I enjoyed what I was learning about and on a technical side I enjoyed trying to implement things I had learnt into my role and work.
The program was well organized and structured even more so given the situation of having to work from home. It was still well organized at home and meeting were regularly set up with the apprenticeship provider for updates and to ensure you knew what to do around exams or projects.
I had loads of support of my employer from my manager and team members and other such as [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who runs/works with the apprentices within the society. I was given the time I needed to complete apprenticeship work and had meetings with my managers to discuss how I was doing along side having the ability to join meetings set up by [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] for all apprentices to discuss how everyone was doing.
I got loads of support from my training provider to a very high standard especially when I was introduced to 2 new people that i would have frequent direct contact with. They would offer support and help whenever they could and put on sessions to help learn new skills and software's.
Doing my qualification has allowed me to learn more about the data that I use on a daily basis, such as types of data and also how to work with it. It also helped me gain experience of software's that I could use in my job and also code writing has helped massively.
At NBS we are about helping the community, because of this you are majorly encouraged to get involved in voluntary actives and are even given 2 days a year in which you are allowed to attend an organized voluntary events instead of work. You can also organize social events within teams which is always great to do.
Yes
They are a great company to work for and the apprenticeship wage is fantastic as well as holidays and other benefits. It is an all round great place to work where you feel as though the work you do matters which is really important. I would highly recommend NBS as a place to work.
My advice would be to be yourself and be confident.
