Everyday at Mace is different that is what is great about the job. One day I could be onsite watching construction works the next day I could be in the office compiling cost reports and looking at carbon reduction techniques.
I have learnt a range of new skills. Mostly my confidence around people has improved, mostly due to the confidence that the company embraces. My technical knowledge around contracts and construction techniques has improved vastly. I have become more motivated as the company embraces new ideas
I really enjoy the programme. it is not just about your 9-5 daily tasks, the apprenticeship team provides o many events and insights for apprentices to attend. I also get involved in marketing campaigns and external recruitment. It is about the range of experience i get which is brilliant.
It is very well organised. There are so many tools to keep apprentices on track towards the skills needed to become a fully chartered manager. The team regularly contact you to check in and allow you to express concerns. Accompany this with events organised and its brilliant.
The support is great. I feel like I can speak up at any moment. There are systems in place to speak up. But also the environment the company creates allows you to chat with anyone openly without going through formal systems, this makes things much easier.
the support is reasonably good from the University. They check in 2-3 times a year to check progress and try their best to support you. There is a lot more ho nous on you.
It is the little things, i walk onsite and i can resonate with things i have learnt at University. the technical knowledge i learn is very helpful.
Absolutely. There is never boring day. So many events going on that you have to say no to some. They are so well organised and thought out usually.
Yes
Because of the support i receive and the amount you are able to immerse yourself in the company. You are also pushed to achieve the best you can, but at the same time you are supported as you are pushed.
let your personality show. I have found that Mace seem to hire apprentices off Character and passion rather than technical knowledge and academic achievements. I prefer this as it helps breed the best company culture.
