  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I deliver change to the operational business. This involves some project management work, using agile methodology and teams to produce and deliver the change. Business readiness activity to prepare the operation for communication etc. I facilitate some scrum activity. Recently we're closing down the business so we've been actively involved in the change needed to make this successful.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I've developed new skills whilst on this course. I've learnt about the end to end project management life cycle and picked up some skills on developing plans which'll come into use when I'm exploring my next career opportunity. The skills I've had have complimented the programme.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I've had to take some breaks in learning due to personal circumstances that stopped me being able to learn, both my employer and Babington we're extremely supportive during this time and this has meant returning to learning has been enjoyable. I've really enjoyed the revision sessions recently.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the programmed is well organised and structured. As you to get to the point where you're revising the babington online platform I've not found as useful as when I was doing my workbooks for the course to prepare for my end point assessment. My tutor 121s are well planned and organised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support, we are encouraged to take the necessary time away to revise, prepare for the end point assessment and complete the course. My employer has been supportive towards me returning to learning and due to the nature of the reason I needed the break has spoken to the college also.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support is provided by the training provider when working towards this qualification. initially we had a bi monthly (I think) workshop to go through each of the stages of the project life cycle and now I meet with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] weekly who is great, I've been revising for my exam and I fire questions I've answered in between the sessions and he's been particularly responsive and this gives me confidence for the exam.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This is difficult to answer as my company doesnt adopt a traditional project management approach however, I could see in each of the stages elements of this evidence where I've been involved so can prepare my portfolio. We are also being made redundant so the qualification isnt adding value to my existing role however it 100% will be beneficial to external recruiters

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Prior to covid and working from home yes there were plenty of activities, social meetings, walks during lunch time, football teams. However now, there is next to nothing. There are some small groups setup to do things remotely, we had exercise classes, meditation meetings, after work social teams calls, but most of this has stopped.

  • 9a. Would you recommend E.ON to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • The company is closing and as such I can't recommend the employer. Several years ago I would have advocated EON and I have had friends and family join the company in the past. But due to the changes I wont be recommending them as an employer any more now.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to E.ON?
  • This is difficult to answer as the company is closing and I am being made redundant. If someone was applying to EON for a field job or to the new company then I would advise to think about the customer lens when applying for job and how you would take accountability for a problem
