I help with daily administrative and HR duties such as: checking and correcting reports, starting recruitment processes, ending appointments, replying to queries and dealing with requests in a professional manner, managing payroll (e.g. filing timesheets), creating job descriptions and making them presentable and creating clear contracts and offer letters.
I have learnt many new skills from on the job training and training at college and am still learning everyday. On the job I have learnt about the systems and processes my organisation goes through when managing and recruiting staff. At college I learn about why these processes are important and how my organisation differs from my peers.
I really enjoy my programme as I work with friendly co-workers who like to support me in my role, ensuring that I understand everything. My organisation also has an apprenticeship team which supports the apprentices and holds events and networking groups to help connect to other apprentices, which helps me to become more involved with my apprenticeship and enjoy my role more.
It is very well structured and organised, at college my learning is planned out and they ensure that I have everything I need to assist me to hand in assignments and meet deadlines and on the job I use different organisation software o help me stay on top and organise my work
I receive lots of support from my employer, My line manager holds daily meetings with me to check if I am getting on okay and see if I need help with any of the tasks I have been set. If I am unsure about something I have been taught I can check guides and templates which have been made incase I get stuck.
My training provider helps me work towards my qualification by providing me feedback before resubmissions of assignments and explaining steps to my assignments clearly and teaching me the knowledge that I need for them. They also check that I have an understating of what needs to be submitted in my assignment.
My training provider helps me to work towards becoming better in my role and keeps my progress on a tracker to help me track and see what knowledge skills and behaviors I am meeting, These knowledge skills and behaviors help me to work towards becoming more professional and suited to my role
As an apprentice I can becoming a part of the apprentice networking systems which gives me the opportunity to connect with other apprentices and meet with them monthly. I can also become an apprenticeship ambassador which allows me to go to career fairs and talk about my apprenticeship to people who may be interested in one.
Yes
It's a friendly organization which provides good quality training and plenty of exciting opportunities within the job and after the fixed course has finished. They fully support you to the end and even after your apprenticeship and help you write your own CV to apply for a new job.
Do not give up when applying, there is usually quite a few applicants so can sometimes be quite hard to get to get an apprenticeship or even an interview, however the University provides many apprenticeships and a range of different roles so there is plenty to apply for and find one which will suit you.
