To learn, develop & apply the technical & behavioural skills required in order to successfully complete the apprenticeship programme to drive the performance of the store team to deliver business results and operation.
I've learnt about different leaning styles such as VAK and honey and mumford, how to drive business through social media, different leadership styles such as paternalistic, democratic etc and also different methods of marketing like cause marketing and viral marketing. developed skills on communication and listening
i love learning new things so in general i really do enjoy the programme i am on. at the moment some elements do feel a bit like a business class such as effective marketing and financial operations. i find my self translating the information into my work at iceland sometimes quite difficult.
now i have setteled in with my new tutor i find it a lot more organised and structured as im set tasks and goals to achieve before our next meeting. Also any outside lessons are organised for me by my tutor and communicated as soon as they are booked etc
iceland give myself a day off during my working week to complete my coursework etc. Both my manager and area manager are approachable for any further help i may need.
since i have been with my new tutor the level of support in this area has been amazing, booking classes that i need to help me improve and also my exams. My current tutor also always asks for feedback on how i found them classes too
i feel the workplace side of my apprenticeship such as people skills, managing a team and communicating effectively has really improved. ive used the grow model countless times to help improve colleagues learnings and standards etc
the company provide us (our stores) with a social fund for which we can put towards a staff night out, we also have area parties, manager nights out and even national events
Yes
