As a cost consultant apprentice, I assist on a range of tasks with my manger along with having responsibility in my projects. Daily tasks include tender analysis, valuations, cost advice and cost checking.
I have definitely learnt lots of new skills aswell as developed my existing ones. We have a lot of internal training as part of the Mace apprenticeship scheme aswell as working towards my QS degree on a day release basis.
The programme is great, theres lot of internal external training and you have a great support system to speak to.
Theres regular training sessions with a hybrid apporach.
You receive constant support from everyone at mace. There is lots of people that you can turn to to ask for support. Theres emerging talent team, your manager, a mentor and everyone else is willing to help.
We have regular meetings to discuss the programme and if I have any concerns. This is good because it allows any worry's to be addressed and sorted.
