My role includes serving drinks and food to customers at the bar, ensuring that company specifications are followed at all times. I am also responsible for ensuring customers have a pleasant experience with us from the moment they walk through the door to the time they leave. Assisting in the day to day running of the pub
I had fairly extensive experience already but my employer enhanced these further. I have learnt how to do ale stillage, how to clean lines, I have knowledge in the company’s ordering system and processes. I am using the skills I have learnt to train up new staff for the role
I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme. It has helped me to see solutions to problems from alternative perspectives. I have learnt things I thought I already knew but didn’t. One thing I can take away is that there is usually more than one way to complete a given task!
My programme was extremely well structured! Even during the pandemic/lockdowns I maintained regular contact with my employer and trainer. I was able to progress the programme despite not being able to work! I have kept my knowledge ticking over whilst still learning new things! I am confident about progressing into the next level
I have received great support from my employer. They have afforded me the time to meet with my trainer and the time away from work to focus on my learning programme. They were totally supportive of me doing this apprenticeship and I am forever grateful for the opportunity I have been given
I receive all the necessary support as and when I require it! My trainers have always been happy to take an email or phone call whenever needed. When I have been struggling, they have been there with the support I needed to get me back on track. Nothing was ever too much trouble
As I have said previously, the training has taught me that there is usually more than one way to solve a problem. My training has taught me not to be afraid to ask for advice when dealing with a situation. Help us always around the corner which is handy to know/learn.
We hold regular community events such as bingo and quiz nights. We also hold annual charity events including darts and football. These enable staff to engage with customers in a light hearted social atmosphere. I feel it promotes a family friendly vibe which is the ethos we aim to promote
Yes
I would recommend Lifetime to friends as it has been invaluable in teaching me new ways and means of approaching my job. I have learnt new things and alternative ways of doing existing things and I will be forever grateful to Lifetime for facilitating such informative and engaging training which I will forever remember
Be sure that you want to do it. Although it isn’t that long a commitment, it does require dedication. See it through and I promise you will come away feeing energised and will almost certainly come away from the programme having learnt something new. You will not regret doing the apprenticeship!
