Within my role I look at processing payment applications and checking that our suppliers have completed the work that they are applying for. I also get tasked to receive quotes and then I may have to analyse the quotes we have received to see which competitor is the most competitive
Since starting my apprenticeship, I have learnt great MS Excel skills and many formulas excel is capable of. I have also learnt how the procurement cycle works and also how procurement departments run. I have developed my people skills as I may be tasked to liase with our external suppliers.
I really enjoy my programme at the minute. I feel as I have learnt great skills and I am working towards a great, well recognised qualification in the procurement world. It is also great to be surrounded by high level procurement experts within my day to day job which also helps me gain valuable knowledge
My Apprenticeship is extremely well organised and set up. From my very first day I was informed of who my entire team was and what my main tasks would be. I also was introduced to my course which I am completing and informed on how that is structured in terms of exams and learning.
I get great support from my employer. They make sure I receive my 20% off the job learning every week and they also understand that I am juggling my learning/ revision with my work load. My employer also makes sure I am introduced and shown as many aspects of the procurement role as possible
My training provider is great. I have good online lessons which cover the topics we are working on for our upcoming exam. They have great support if you ever need to email them and ask any questions. My training provider also give us 1-2-1 sessions with a tutor which I could use to ask any questions I may have
Everything I have learnt so far through my training provider has been great, and I can see this within my role at work. When doing certain activities such as conducting Tenders, I can relate what I am doing to what I have been learning and this helps to strengthen my knowledge
There is multiple networking opportunities at work. However, there isn't any designated/ formally arranged sports teams which is disappointing. However, there is a lot of freedom when it comes to social activities, although this does depend on the team you are in. My team have been on many social events since I joined 7 Months ago and this is great to get to know your team better.

Severn Trent are a great organisation/business to work for. They have many great benefits including a great pension, annual bonus and also an excellent share save scheme. The people who work at Severn Trent our really welcoming and are happy to help and they also have a helpful HR team who are happy to help with any problems
Just be yourself. Severn Trent love to have a varied workforce and everyone is accepted. In term of interviews, I had to do a presentation about myself as part of my interview. Make sure to keep an eye on the Severn Trent website as they have many apprenticeships available to start in August and January.
