I look at carbon out puts by new projects and ensure these are collated for our regulator, I also look at our biodiversity net gain for new projects. I work with people around the business in trying to reduce our carbon emissions especially while planning a repair job or new asset.
I have massively developed my excel knowledge which is very useful as a skill. I have gained new skills in report writing as well as increasing my confidence in speaking to others in a business setting. I access to loads of training courses I can do internally which means i can expand my knowledge even if it is outside what i do everyday.
I love my job as I enjoy looking at the wildlife and I am very climate change focused in my personal life so this role fits with my personal beliefs very well. I like that QA is virtual as it allows me to plan my time and do it when it suits me
I feel it is very well organised with making sure that there's a strong apprentice network so that we can talk to other apprentices to lean on for support or offer that support from someone who is doing the same as you. I feel QA is very organised as I've already had all my live session dates all the way to the end of my course so i can easily plan my time and work load.
I have never felt so supported by an employer before. I know that if i have an ssue with my work i can speak to my manager about anything to do with it no matter how silly i may feel. from an aapprentice point i know theres at least 3 differnt people i could contact for support which is good
I feel like I receive a lot of support from my provider with many ways to contact my advisor as well as a live chat with any advisor if I need general help rather then specific for my course. i feel like this is very useful as it means no matter what i need help with its there
I feel like it will help me in my role because the knowledge will allow me to be able to complete new tasks in more complex ways to ensure that we are recording all carbon. I also feel like i will be able to take what i learn in my course and use it for my job.
there's apprentice socials which i am starting to attend when i can which is nice to meet other apprentices from other areas of the business in different cohorts from different areas to interact and build that network of people to talk to about being an apprentice. i also want to expand the official network to my offices
Yes
because i feel so supported in my role which is really good, the quality of training is really good and the pay/ benefits of the job are better then most I have seen offered. I feel like it is a very secure job as there's a guaranteed job at the end unlike some companies.
don't be shy in your assessment centre, don't be afraid to ask questions and talk to people at them, you may end up working with them so its nice to see a face you recognise. also don't worry if you didn't do great in exams they look for your potential rather then past.
