During my time at Aon, I have tried to take every opportunity that comes my way into my stride to become the best version of myself. I am really interested in the world of Investment and pensions and learning towards my Investment Management certificate has only enhanced my understanding. I have many team members too who I can ask questions and they are happy to answer
I would say my Programme is very well structured as I have a lot of support from colleagues and my training provider (Fitch Learning). many points of contact have been set up whenever I have a problem. Maybe one thing that can be improved is, 20% of my time is meant to be Training but some days I can find myself having worked the whole day.
My employer has been great as many colleagues aspire me to do my best everyday. They make me want to come to work and better myself. They do this through Incentives and rewarding me for hard work. Many colleagues are always happy to help (around the country if I have any questions
Fitch Learning have set up a really great and easily accessible platform when I want to revise new or already learnt content for my upcoming exams. They also allow me to ask questions If I am ever stuck and put on revision days closer to the dates of any upcoming exams.
The Investment management certificate has helped me learn about various parts of my role. For example, I have learnt about the different assets e.g. Derivatives, equites, futures gilts etc. One Client wanted to Invest in less riskier assets and so I knew that a government bond would suit their portfolio as it gives you a higher chance of receiving your money back along with coupon payments in contrast to e.g. equites
Though I haven't managed to get Involved in many, Aon, Have business resource groups which are groups set up, and allows anybody to join. For example, Aon has a Black Lives matter group and what I love about this is you do not have be be a Black person to join, anybody is able to join.
