I manage a team of data analysts, data engineers and insight analysts. team of 10.
Yes, the MBA programme has been helpful and I've learnt a lot from an innovation and leadership perspective. some courses I've found more helpful for my role than others.
It's been difficult during the pandemic, specifically an MBA should help broaden your network and that aspect has been lacking as all meetings have been virtual. people don't put their cameras on and most people work in the public sector. Overall, I wouldn't say the MBA helped improve my network and make new professional connections and this has impacted my enjoyment of the programme. It feels lonely as I do a lot of desk/individual work for it and that's it.
Programme is well structed. It's missing the external aspect - business leaders, entrepreneurs, real life cases. It feels like Middlesex university have invested the bare minimum in this and they haven't created a well rounded programme. it's very focused on academic knowledge and research and applying that but we don't talk enough about the market environment, case studies of other companies, etc.
Ok support, I am a director so my job is quite busy and I have to do some work in my spare time but I think that's expected at my level and given it's a degree (higher expectations).
Ok support, my skills coach is very good I think, but middlesex hasn't been extremely helpful. any questions about grades go unanswered and I haven't got any constructive feedback on how to improve.
I'm not sure. It's interested and I love learning but realistically I don't know if it's helping me a lot. Usually people do an MBA in order to gain career progression and better opportunities but I am not sure this degree will give me that.
Not much because of covid
Yes
It's a good company to work for. People are genuinely nice and people come first which I love about the company. They're flexible, managers are generally good and aim to be good leaders (including myself). There are lots of opportunities to progress and learn internally.
Be personable, show enthusiasm, be motivated and determined. We want thigh performing people so be prepared to go above in beyond (in a good way, you will enjoy it here and you'll be challenged, stretched and you'll learn a lot).
