My role varies on a day to day basis. On a day to day basis it involves admin tasks such as invoicing/ producing certificates etc. I get client queries which I deal with as and when they come in and may liaise with insurers if the query is about a new addition to the portfolio/ mid term adjustments.
I have developed many skills whilst at Aon. My confidence in talking to new people has come along miles and I have to talk to various different people on a daily basis, such as clients or insurers. I have also developed on my time keeping which is an important skill as I have so much to juggle on a daily basis and need to ensure that I am keeping track of what I'm doing and where I am at so I don't miss anything.
I have really enjoyed my programme so far. I have met so many people and made friends with the other apprentices who joined in my cohort. I have enjoyed that there has been no pressure to complete the apprenticeship within a particular time frame and that I can go at my own pace and complete my studies as and when it suits me.
My programme has been somewhat well structured. When I first joined in September 2020, there was a schedule of when we would have training session and also revision sessions which were planned in line of when we were due to sit our exams. However, since finishing my exams the programme has been less structured in the run up to my EPA
I receive untold amounts of support from my employer. My manager is very supportive and is always understanding when I need to prioritise my apprenticeship over my day to day work. He is always asking how my apprenticeship is going and if I need any support to work towards my end point assessment.
I have received a satisfactory amount of support from my training provider. My first coach was helpful when it came to my exams and would answer any questions that I had. My current coach is very helpful now but can be a bit slow on response times and by the time I get a response it is sometimes too late.
My qualification some what helps to my role. The content that I had to study for my exams linked partially to the line of business I work in. Even though it has been a while since i did my exams, I still use some of the knowledge and apply to my role.
My team have a lot of social events. We often go out for lunch or go for drinks after work. Often I get emails about networking events that I can attend and the team usually circulates there. In the past, before COVID my team did various sports events such as running 5k for charity and so am looking forward to getting involved with these once they're back up and running

Aon is a fantastic company to work for. They are all about the people - as well as clients! The benefits available to colleagues are amazing. It is a very friendly environment to work in and I feel comfortable asking questions should I need to. I would recommend working at aon to everyone
Be yourself 100%. Before I joined the apprenticeship scheme I knew absolutely nothing about insurance. You are hired on your personality and the knowledge will come later. Also ask questions! No question is a silly question and there is always going to be someone willing to answer - not everyone knows anything.
