  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a client account manager covering ETD specific clients. Within relationship management, I am responsible for servicing the client and managing their overall experience with UBS. This relates to answering any queries they may have and escalating issue to the correct internal teams. I am also tasked with improving their experience with UBS by coming up with innovative ideas.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt numerous amount of new skills such as how to network and build professional relationships with colleagues. This has increased my confidence and improved my communication skills. I have also developed my team working and collaboration skills, allowing me to be more effective in group situations and how to tailor my approach based on the scenario.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • although I find the program very challenging at times, it is highly rewarding. I enjoy learning new skills and new knowledge. I have also had the opportunity to meet new people and learn about the finance industry and am excited for my future. The program is highly engaging and worthwhile.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My program is well structured and we have specific deadlines and targets that we must meet. Our program is run off of a calendar and the units are mapped out. I particularly enjoy the combination of work and study in the program structure as this allows me to get a good balance of knowledge and experience in the workplace.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from UBS and i would say that they excel in this area. I have always had a positive experience with supportive line managers and teams and have been allocated various workplace mentors that have guided my journey at UBS. I also feel well supported by HR and my academic mentors at the university.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a fair amount of support from my training provider. In particular my academic mentor is very good. She helps track my progress, motivates me to do well and answers any queries or concerns that i have in a timely manner. The university are good at pointing you in the right direction for support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • my qualification has allowed me to gain extensive knowledge around products and services which has helped me in my role. I have been able to understand financial jargon which is used in my role. i now have a good background understanding of the industry, markets, regulations etc and can put this into practice in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am heavily involved in extra curricular activities at UBS and there are numerous opportunities to get involved in a range of events/clubs. I am a community affairs champion and help organize charity events, which is also a great way for meeting new people and developing my networking skills.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • UBS is a great company to work for and I see myself working here for the entirety of my career. The culture is welcoming and positive. I feel proud to work at such a great company because they display good values and morals. they also invest into their employees as well as the community


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • ensure that your CV is up to date and displays all relevant skills. Do your research on the company and decide why you would like to work here and why you think you would be a good fit for the company. Be confident in your interview and always ask for feedback.
