In my day to day role I have been processing premium and pro rata accounts using different systems, interact with my team and help with other team members workloads. I have kept track of broker finalize emails during the 1/1 renewal season and will be assisting with the april renewals.
Since I have started my professional writing skills such as emails have improved. I have learnt how to use the different systems and developed my excel skills through attending training courses. I am also working towards completing professional CII exams including IF4 claims handling which is developed my skills and knowledge when handling claims.
So far I have been enjoying the programme and the work that I have had assigned to me. My team have been very supportive at helping me to complete the qualification as well as assisting me with my day to day work. I like the company culture and everyone is very friendly and has met my expectations.
The programme is well structured and using Aptem makes it easy for us to see what tasks we need to complete and when they need to be completed by and allows use to track all our off the job hours. Our coach at Davies learning solutions is very supportive and has frequent updates with us to look at our process. They allow us lots of time for studying and provide good training such as revision workshops to help us complete our exams
I receive lots of support for my manager if I need help with my day to day work. She also supports with my qualification by making sure she is giving me study time and has set up calls with people in other areas of Aon such as the claims team and other syndicates to expose me to all areas of the business which will help my understanding and to pass the apprenticeship.
I receive a lot of support from my coach at Davies learning solutions. He books in regular reviews with us to discuss our progress and see what we can do to improve. He is always very helpful with any problems that we have with completing our apprenticeships tasks and provides guidance on how we can complete them. I have enjoyed working towards completing my qualification.
The qualification has helped to improve my knowledge of the insurance market and the claims handling process which is good for me to know in my role as I understand the different terminology. However my role is not specifically related to claims so some of the stuff that is covered in the claims handling pathway is not specific to my job role.
Due to covid there hasn't been many social events or in person networking events. However they have still provided virtual networking sessions when we started so they we could get to know all the other apprentices. They also do virtual networking sessions every month for new starters so you can get to know people from different Aon offices
Yes
I would recommend Aon to a friend as they are a good company and they are very supportive with helping you complete the apprenticeship programme. Everyone at Aon is very friendly and happy to help out with anything you need. The apprenticeship programme is also very well structured and the training providers are very supportive.
Advice I would give to others applying to Aon is to be prepared and make sure to research before your interview and assessment days. Make sure you have any questions that you want to ask prepared beforehand. Also get to know your peer group and the other apprentices that are going through the same process.
