I check server backups every morning, to make sure the servers are all running efficiently. I help users out with problems they are having with either hardware/software. I do testing for our software, called Profile Logic.
I can now communicate more efficiently on the phone, when diagnosing problems a user is having. I've improved my logging for support tickets, making it easier for me to fix problems that have happened before.
It's a great experience, so I'd say I am fully enjoying this programme, definitely related to what I want to do in the future.
The programme is organised well, I can see what work I need to hand in, and how many hours have been logged for the work I've done on the course.
I've received a lot of support from my employer. Always willing to help when I have a question with problems I am struggling with.
My training provider is always available for me to ask questions and receive support. I go to sessions every Monday for 2 hours with my tutor to learn more about the IT topics. Then I get on with my activities/homework, I can ask for help when needed.
It has helped me to gain a bigger understanding on how important my job role is. This has given me more motivation to perform better in my role because learning more about what I do makes me want to do better - if that makes sense :)
We have a gym in our workplace, and I've been to a social event at Manchester Central for a Christmas Party -. I've heard that in the past they have been to hiking events, marathons and air shows. Also, there is plan on setting a football team up.
Yes
Everyone is friendly and understanding. I've helped many users throughout these months and they have all been patient with me, especially if I see a problem that I have never seen before.
My advice would be to make sure you put everything you know about IT on your CV and make sure you have projects you can show them, so they can ask questions. In interviews it will help, as you tend to forget what to say sometimes.
