Printing , Team Calls, Training , Working on tasks for members such as Retirement Quotes, Study Leave for APE exams , Apprentice work such as Knowledge Statement and Learning Logs.
Yes. I have developed skills such my writing and mathematic skills by writing letters and doing calculations for members
I enjoy my role a lot and like learning on the Job and feel supported by my Team and others at Barnett Waddingham
I feel that the programme could be better structured in regards to the Learning Logs we have to complete as the Business and Apprentice company can sometimes tell us apprentices different things that they want done on them which can make completing these logs more complicated and can take up more time than we need on them as we have to go back and correct things due to miscommunication . Other than that I feel the work I am set by my team leader and my apprentice rep allows me a good amount of time between both to make sure I get both sides of my job done to a good standard and that neither are rushed.
I feel I get loads of support in Barnett Waddingham from people on my team and even people who aren't . I have a "Buddy" who i can go to with any issues I have and my team always helps me with anything i need. I also have an APE mentor for any APE related questions or concerns.
I have monthly calls with my Training Provider to discus my apprentice work and I feel I receive a good amount of Support from my Apprentice Rep and know that I can email her with any issues I have.
I think that it helps a lot as it gives me time to sit down and read about Pensions and then it can give me a better understanding of why I do something in a task and this helps me learn and remember the process better.
Due to covid ,since i have joined the business i dont believe many extra-curricular activities have been running but i am aware of prior to covid of the team sports and event that would take place. However, in the apprenetice program i have been to the Birmingham office to meet with other apprentices and get to know some people from BW and the Growth Company.
Yes
The people at Barnett Waddingham are very helpful and I have been given a lot of time to learn what I am taught so i am not rushed and I can fully understand what I need to be doing in regards to work and focus on apprentice work and Study leave for the APE exams.
Defiantly do it if you are interested as its a great place to work and learn.
