  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am in charge for the administration of one of Cygnet Health Care's sites - therefore, I am in charge of the payroll (submitting hours & answering any queries), putting through site orders, invoices, staff absences/annual leave, taking meeting minutes, typing up letters, working with, making and analysing spreadsheets, booking staff training, recruitment, communicating with share holders both internal and external etc...

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I certainly have, I have only been on the course for just under 3 months however, I have developed a lot of my skills in that time i.e. communication skills, English skills, Maths skills, learnt how to use Paragon's system (Bud) which is a very easy to use system.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme, it's hard sometimes to make time to complete the work however, I always manage to submit my work on time. I look forward to my meetings which are every 3 weeks - and my tutor is excellent, very down to earth, always helpful and approachable. I am enjoying being a "student" again.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured - if I am busy at work one week we can put work to a side and just concentrate on the minimum. It is very well organised and I have a booklet explaining what is expected etc... Meetings are in the diary for the year therefore, we don't have to organise every time we go on a call.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support form my employer - they are always willing to help me with what I need. Their attitude towards me doing the course is great - they are willing to support me in whichever way possible to help me progress. Willing to attend meetings when needed & provide feedback/support at any time.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Tutor is excellent - she really supports me and gives me ideas etc... tells me how good I am doing and explains things in a way that I understand. Always asks how I am and shows a general interest in what I do. Couldn't ask for a better tutor if I am honest.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It's great as before I would do my day to day job and now think about what I have actually learnt or what skills I am using to do the task set out. I certainly feel that I am learning more about the business from this course - i.e. type of industry & others that are similar.. how they work etc...

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are social events/company events/activities usually via Zoom/Teams as some sites/venue's are still closed/limited due to Covid. There are plenty of training courses to attend via out learning and development team - the company is great to work for and support you whenever you need it.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cygnet Health Care to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a great company to work for, the support that you get is great. They are very fair, and always willing to help you progress. There is progression available within the company which is a huge thing for me. If you put 100% in then you will get 100% out of the business. I can say that I am PROUD to work for Cygnet.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cygnet Health Care?
  • Be professional, be confident and be honest. Sell yourself on your application and do your research into the company before your interview - i.e. the type of site/department you are applying for. The onboarding process is easy, have your ID readily available along with your CV/application form. Training isn't always on site so be willing to travel a little bit (the courses are generally yearly) but expenses are paid.
