My role involves producing drawings for engineers and modelling structural features in CAD softwares.
I have learned many new skills since joining Arup including communication skills, professional behaviour and role-specific skills in CAD production.
I enjoy learning new skills in both work and college because it will help me later in my career. The skills I learned at the moment are laying the foundations for the future and I enjoy it.
my programme is well structured with my training provider, college and workplace who are all in regular contact about my progress.
I receive all the support I need from my employer as my colleagues can help me with any issues I have.
my training provider is always there to be contacted if I have any queries but can be slightly unclear when setting out instructions and tasks.
I feel that my qualification at college is a very broad approach to civil engineering. only portions are related to my current job role but it is good to get exposure to all areas of civil engineering
At the moment, I have not been to any social events with work but there are ones planned for the future that I do plan to attend.
