  • My role is a generalist HR role. I am involved with the complete employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and employment. I support staff with their Probation and PDR process. I also carry out RTW checks, process visa applications and respond to daily email requests.

  • I have learnt many new skills during my apprenticeship as well as embedding exisiting knowledge and increasing my confidence in my role.

  • I have enjoyed the programme, even though it has been quite difficult to balance the workload and studying at times.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme structure within the University and my department has been great, but I have found the structure with the college provider a bit more challenging.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received good support from the University and there was more availalble if I needed it. The support from my department was amazing, particularly from my line manager.

  • The support from my training provider was a bit mixed and a little frustrating at times.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has really helped me to widen my understanding of HR and how my role fits into this.

  • Yes, there are many opportunities - networking events for apprentices, social events, awards etc.
