I am an apprentice field technician , I have been in my role for just under 4 weeks and have leant allot of new skills. i have been on several courses and have been shadowing my mentor.
I have learnt about the equipment we use, the customers and queries we face in the field and I am being trained to amend any faults and to install new equipment.
i have enjoyed my time so far, i have met other apprentices that are taking the course along side myself. I have met my team of field techs as well as my Apprentice support specialist both of which are very supportive and easy to get along with.
The course has been set out a year in advance, telling me week by week what ill be doing in regards to that week. Its very easy to understand and to get along with.
In a simple word, allot. I have been supported by everyone i have met in the company so far. i have had a few issues with regards to my PDA, company van etc to which i had my whole fields tech team, manager, support specialist and even other apprentices trying to help me out to resolve the issues.
Again, allot of support. Regular visits to the red shed, calls etc.
I believe it makes me preform better because i have a clear understanding of what is expected from me.
I am unsure of any extra curricular activities. The field tech team i work along side did have a 5 a side football team.

Absolutely. Virgin / 02 are a huge company with so much to offer.
Be yourself, try your hardest. Once you take the first step and walk through the door it opens up a whole new world of career progression and a much better, healthier lifestyle. I love we work 4 days, it means we have more time outside of work giving a better work to life balance.
