On a day to day basis it is my duty to make sure I safeguard the young people and give them the ability to flourish and learn life skills ready for their independence. I also maintain reports and paperwork to ensure that there is evidence of the young personals development and to ensure clear communication
I have been able to further develop myself on a personal level which has enabled me to help the young people further with their trauma. I have gained confidence in speaking up for myself in a work place and challenge people with authority, this was previously a fear of mine but I can now openly speak up for the children.
I enjoy learning new subjects and completing studies that will enhance myself on a personal level which I can then share to others around me. I enjoy learning about trauma and how it impacts development of young people and how you can change inner belief systems. I would say that I am developing on a daily basis because of this course
My programme is completely structured and is organised well. I enjoy the fact that is it interactive learning on the self study’s. I usually find academic learning quite boring and lack stimulation so I find it hard to stay engaged but the way the course is structured I am always interest in the next subject
I believe that my employer is supportive of my course but I feel like I do not have much intensive training as I did in my previous role at five rivers. I do not think the company have much knowledge on what is expected of them and I am often left to my own devices
I know that I can contact [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] whenever I need her help, she makes sure she is fully available and always gives the correct advice and will give you plenty of guidance to achieve your goal in your qualification. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is also very understanding if you are struggling and do her best to help
I feel like by continuously completing assignments I am given direction in terms of research so I have more awareness on emotional intelligence, this allows me to understand the young people in a deeper way so that I can ensure I meet their needs and help them to the best of my ability
There are none of these in my place of work as it is a family run business but I believe that this activities would be a great way to gain confidence in yourself and make new contacts to improve your development further and meet like minded people. I think it would also help for my company to do team building days to develop on communication
Yes
This company does enable you to develop on a personal level and they are extremely supportive when you are in need of help. It is an amazing job and it’s even better knowing that you are helping young people every single day and making their life that little bit better
I would ensure that you have a good amount of resilience before applying as the young people do have challenging behaviour and you will have to ensure you have the space to show compassion and patience with the young people. It will also help if you are creative to give the young people new skills
