I help the daily running of my branch within the Travis Perkins group, I also help with sales in the branch and run the branch when my manager if off on holiday. I also look after all the health and safety in the branch and answer the phones and provide good customer service on a daily basis
I have learnt a range of different skills, I've learnt how to become a better mentor and coach. I've learnt about the insights energies and how to adapt my personal choice to suit others. I've learnt how to support my team through the change curve and learnt how to put together an effective business plan.
I have really enjoyed my time on the programme, it has helped me to develop my leadership skills and become a more confident person. I have also learnt what it means to be an effective part of the team and have really enjoyed meeting other people from within the organisation.
The programme was very organised, especially with me starting through the pandemic, all the work was set up on google classroom. I had a webinar to watch every month, with clear instruction on what tasks needed to be completed within a timescale. I found this to be very effective and was really pleased with the layout
I received amazing support throughout my apprenticeship, not only from my manager, Regional Director but my team also. If it wasn't for their support though my journey I wouldn't be where I am today, even the support in general for people like me to learn through these apprenticeships is amazing.
I received amazing support on my first apprenticeship with LEAP which was Level 3 Managing a Team, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] my mentor was great, he would arrange days for myself and others to meet and catch up on work. When completing my second apprenticeship, Level 5 Leading a Business, I received amazing support from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], the LEAP team go above and beyond to make sure that you are supported and help with setting aside time. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has always been a phone call, google meet or an email away when I've needed help.
It is clear to see that the apprenticeships I have completed that they 100% help me perform better at work. It's helped me to deal with conflict, talk to stakeholders about financials, helped me understand my team and what makes them motivated. Without the apprenticeship I wouldn't of been as successful as I am in a short period of time.
As far as I'm aware there isn't any direct social activities, sports teams or networking events but I know that my organisation has an active role in fundraising for charities and holds regular managers meetings. We also have newsletters that come through email every week that keep us up to date on whats happening with in the business.

Travis Perkins is an amazing company to work for, although the P&H have now been taken over by Highbourne group, my journey started with TP. I've always felt accepted and know that the best of the best work for TP. They also strive for customer satisfaction which I think is what you look for in a company.
Don't be afraid to take a LEAP of faith. Even if you think you won't fit in or be accepted, you are good enough. TP is a place that you can grow and succeed in your career, whether that's just sales or you want to better yourself and climb the leadership ladder.
