  • administration of pension schemes, processing a wide variety of documents in accordance with the various Scheme’s rules, administrative guidelines and regulatory requirements, conduct appropriate pensions calculations

  • GMP reconciliation, Retirement spread out option reconciliation, LTA charge reconciliation, Workplace pensions origins and parties involved in retirement provision, regulatory and legal elements, values and professional standards of Mercer, action to take when errors occur

  • Excellent learning programme, strong learning support. It would be much more difficult to achieve my goals without the constant support of my mentor

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured and organised. The administration is effectively handled by the course leadership, teaching and support staff.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get a lot of support from my manager and we have regular catch ups, we also keep in contact via email and I can always go to her when I have any problems or questions. My mentor is very supportive, we keep in contact via email and we meet up for virtual meeting every couple of months. Getting support in the Mercer is very easy as everyone is just an email or a phone call away and people do try to make themselves as available as possible for you. If I have had problems I have had great guidance from staff and everyone is always extremely nice and understanding.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I meet up online with my mentor every six weeks and she goes through my learning progress and points out any parts that need changed or improved and she keeps me up to date on my progress via email.

  • Training course vastly improving the effectiveness of my current role performance, I am developing skill sets that allow me undertake a greater variety of work, increasing my ability to respond effectively to change.

  • There are various extra-curricular activities at Mercer that can help me work on the specific skills, while also boosting my confidence, improving interpersonal skills and providing me with a diverse set of soft skills, such as interpersonal and time management skills.
