  • I am an operations manager. I open/close the store make sure daily routines are done. on top of store safety. colleague welfare. setting tasks. keeping in line with company policies.

  • Learnt how to manager colleagues individually to get the best out of individuals.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It was good, learnt a lot on the courses going out of store. It was hard to fit in the work. ended up doing alot of it at home.

  • Very organised. hard to balance my day job and doing the course work along side my job.

  • Not very much, felt more like a hindrance at times. especially when it came to manager reviews.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My tutor was very patient. I wasn't always on time and at times felt over whelmed as i got behind on work. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] broke it all down and gave me the work in sections with out her I would not have competed the course.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Wickes to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Depends what you want from wickes. The pay is not great for what you have to do. similar roles in supermarkets etc that pays more but if you need a flexible job to fit around school or a 1st job its a good place


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Wickes?
  • Do every bit of training possible, get as far as you can whilst your here as its something to put on your CV which can lead to better jobs
