In my role I work with my team to provide a quality and professional job up to the best of my abilities , we do work such as fixing , fitting and rectifying work such as toilets, sinks and much more, in my role as I am more inexperienced I help when I can and learn by watching also.
I have learnt many skills whilst working here mentally and physically and also have developed existing skills I would say my strong points are things like teamwork, determination and a willingness to learn I am also happy to receive constructive criticism as I believe it will make me a better plumber and professional
I really enjoy my apprenticeship it’s a new experience for me and I am enjoying learning and meeting new people , I really can see myself improving as a plumber and also as a professional, my work colleagues really make work enjoyable and have made me feel welcome since I started
Really well I always know what task I am going to do before I start and if I am not comfortable or I am struggling I know the right people to tell and get support from my mentors keep me in the loop with all that happens so I am never confusef
As much as I need my employer doesn’t ever seem angry or annoyed if I am struggling or I have done something wrong he is very helpful and easy to talk too , he will always ask if I’m okay and or need help and is happy to go the extra mile
I receive a lot of support and always feel if there is times when I need to talk to them I can they check up on me on the regular and make sure all my off the job based work is running smoothly, they help and occasionally visit me in college
I am gaining a lot more knowledge to my apprenticeship so I feel like I am getting more involved in work based learning as I remember a lot of things that I have learnt in college that I can use on site they also teach us correct mental techniques at work
There is a lot to get involved in I have been to many professional networking events which is really good because you meet a lot of other apprentices from the company who work in different areas of the company which I find interesting and good to share my experience with others
Yes
I would recommend Balfour Beatty as it is one of the most prestigious building companies in the world, the staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome , they are incredibly helpful and you would learn so much , I am proud to work for Balfour Beatty and anyone else should be
I would say to be confident in your ability’s even if you have had little to none experience as everyone can help in some sort of way by learning , I would say to be determined to learn and willing to receive constructive criticism and to be proud whilst working
