I am a web developer which means day to day I write code for websites, review where we are, what needs to be done, how we could improve it, making sure we are achieving the requirements for the site and delivering it before or on the deadline set.
I didn't have any experience when I joined Capgemini with regards to web development but with their help, and a lot of studying out of office ours I managed to gain a decent set of skills which I am building on, on a daily basis.
I love my programme, and working for Capgemini, its safe to say I have never regretted joining the company and my programme managers who look after us do a great job and are always there to answer any questions really quickly!
I feel very valued at Capgemini. You can tell that the company respects its employees and is very proud of the work that we do. There are lots of opportunities for recognition by managers and they are always full or praise.
I found the structure of the programme very beneficial. With our 3 month intensive training programme at the beginning with a few weeks in the office it really helped us to settle in. We are working in our roles within the company but we are also completing the tasks for our apprenticeship at the same time with regular visits from our apprenticeship assessor who also helps us through the work that we need to do. After the apprenticeship we will then move onto our university degrees.
We receive a lot of help from our training providers as mentioned in the previous question, we have monthly visits to make sure that we are on track and are doing what we need to be doing.
I am constantly in conversations with my employer as we work closely together in the work that we do.
My salary meets my costs but we are on a quarterly salary review so this is likely to increase in the future
There are a few opportunities outside of work but we haven't really been made aware of them.
Yes
The possibilities are literally endless with Capgemini. Since joining the company, I worked hard for a role that I wanted and when it became available I was chosen to be in that role. The support from my manager is that he wants us to do well in the company and he wants us to be in the role that we want to be in and progress through the company. It is a great feeling to have so many people on your side and trying to push you through the company and attain the best you can, giving you as many opportunities to better yourself as they can. It is a great company to work for and as I said before, I have never regretted joining.
My advice to others applying to Capgemini is to apply as soon as you can. If you want to be part of a revolutionary company, being part of a great team, each day at work being different, working with new people, enjoy the challenge and tackling it head on, fill out that application form and we will welcome you with open arms.
