Technical Analyst Ensuring an Estate of 35,000 Unix servers are kept operational and efficient by using tools such as the command line to diagnose and fix faults with operating systems
I Have been on several external training courses and have developed a range of Hard and soft skills that I deem to be invaluable. Such as command line operations and employee communication
Its the best decision I have ever made regarding education and life choices. there is not one thing I would prefer to be doing and the course far exceeded my expectations. so much so I drive 150 miles a day just to go to work
I Believe that even though HSBC is such a large company there is a major focus on apprenticeships from all of the company including senior management. we are seen by everyone as the future of the company
The Apprenticeship is in its second year and so many initial issues faced by the first year have been ironed out. whilst there are still a few teething problems as the scheme is new. these are all minimal and were expected
Support is available from a multitude of sources and colleagues and managers cannot be anymore helpful than they already are. everyone seems like they just want us to do well in our jobs and they try as hard as we do to make that happen.
They endeavour to ensure you get as much training as required to do your job. I have also gained qualifications in standards such as ITIL
The Salary exceeds costs as I am still living at home. However if I were to live on my own I am unsure. What I do know is that for my age the salary is excellent
An un-countable amount. I have been to London several times for various reasons. for sometimes a week at a time. I have been on social outings with the team to have Dinner, or just going for a drink with the other apprentices
Yes
Its a fantastic company that I could not fault for anything, everyone knows who they are and they carry a prestigious reputation
Be Honest about your skill level. Make sure you tell them your long term ambitions in the company. and don't try to make out to be someone your not.
