On a day-to-day basis my job involves carrying out important calculations, research and descriptions for the project I am on. It requires good communication within my team and daily calls and meetings updating and checking in with each other.
I am much better at carrying out tasks such as calculations to the correct standard as well as having better communication skills with more practice on presenting.
I enjoy my programme a lot. I like working with experienced engineers and find the work I carry out very interesting and satisfying once completed.
My uni/work balance varies a lot throughout the year. However I have been able to manage it well whilst working from home and have made sure the university provide good resources online if I am not able to attend due to work
I feel I have a lot of support. I have my manager, mentor and early career advisor as well as other colleagues to turn to when needing help.
I have a learning mentor at university who helps me make sure I am on track for the end point assessment of my apprenticeship but they are also there for any extra support as well as the head of subject who checks in with apprentices.
My qualification helps with the basics and I am learning a lot from my job role with applying these basics to the nuclear industry
Yes there are networking events etc.
Yes
I have had a good experience with the company and think the work carried out is very interesting.
Make sure to network with your colleagues in different areas of work as it is useful to have their contacts for future projects. In regards to the degree aspect - make sure you have good time management and are prepared to put in extra hours for revision
