  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role consists of the day to day management of the organisations HR functionality and supporting employees through connecting on a day to day basis and further encouraging managers to display positive people practices in line with guidance from CIPD and ACAS, i love what i do and love helping people from management to recruitment and performance

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of new skills to implement into my role, from the use of CIPD and the profession map and the use of CPD to understand and gage how and when to use each functionality within what i do, teamwork and communication skills have been greatly improved, throughout my learning.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have absolutely loved working with like minded individuals on the course, sharing ideas and the tutor support session have been fantastic, its great to work with my LDC on a monthly basis and cover off my development and how this is put into practice within my day to day responsibilities.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was structured in way that was easy to understand and easy to navigate, the only difficulty was the change of system when nearing the end of my course, and if Avado and arch could be a combine platform i believe this would make this more structured, however overall, very well structured and clear to follow

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received great support from my employer from having time during my week to dedicate this to my apprenticeship for not only my career but also my own personal development throughout my future prospects, my line manager has supported me daily with my course and is always there to guide where needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i have received a great level of support from my training provider, from the tutor support sessions hosted by Steve Green which were great as well as the monthly meetings with my LDC [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who was an absolute dream to work with and someone who supported me both within my career and we built a great personal relationship.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe the terminology i have learnt, the knowledge i know have to guide others through Standardised HR Practice and this will help me to better evolve the culture within our organisation to align to the overall business objectives, my skills and behaviours have grown with patience, taking an objective view and time keeping skills!

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many activities i can take part in from bi-annually meetings and conference for wider networking opportunities, also on a team level within our office we have a great relationship whereby time is spent outside of the office to mingle and socialise. i always benefit from meeting others at social events.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend McDonalds for the sheer development i have faced as an employee, an employer given my responsibility and as a person, i have changed a great deal into a personable character, with the knowledge skills and behaviours to perform within my role and build and train others to progress their own career.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • some advice that i would give to someone would be to always try something new, even if it pushes you out of your comfort zone just try your hardest and you will succeed, show willing and an element of perseverance and the rewards and benefits will be returned from the company.
