On a day-to-day basis my days are very different. I do many different things including working on the shop floor face-to-face with customers and delivering good customer service. However I also work in the office and ensure the business is working correctly and successfully by completing tasks such as the schedule snd training.
I have developed many existing skills while on the degree apprenticeship program such as communication and professionalism. I have also learn many new skills from learning units at university that I can take into any situation including the workplace. Being promoted to assistant manager has also developed my skills greatly
I enjoy my program as it allows me to work full-time and earn a salary while learning and completing a degree at university. gaining a full degree at the end of my program along with five years work experience which employers will shrink highly off. However this program is not easy I can sometimes be stressful
The degree apprenticeship program is organised very well to help learn things at university alongside learning in the workplace. Many of the unit assignments are linked to the workplace which allows us to learn new things and then apply them to the workplace to gain better knowledge of the unit.
Over the last four years of my degree apprenticeship program I have worked under three different business managers who have all supported me differently. My current business manager is very understanding and supportive in knowing that I need support at the time of the floor to help me with university
I gain a lot of support from my training provider which is Manchester Metropolitan University while working towards completing my degree. While completing assignments I can always email my unit tutor and they will help me as much as they can. We also have the skills coach who will always check up on us to ensure we are doing okay
I feel that my qualification of business management from Manchester Metropolitan University helps me perform a lot better in my role. For example when I learn a new unit most of my assignments are linked to the workplace and allows me to perform better within my workplace in my current role
There are many extracurricular activities to get involved in in the workplace for example we have crew night outs Managers Night Out and Salaried night outs. We also participate in sports teams playing football and playing against other stores in a tournament to gain a trophy for the winning store
Yes
I would recommend Mcdonalds to a friend as the employees that work there are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and from such different backgrounds and we all work together as a team to help make each other have a good day and work towards the same goal. There is also so many opportunities within Mcdonalds.
One main tip I would advise to give others applying for Mcdonalds it’s to show your true self as they are very welcoming and to also show them your skills and knowledge that you can bring to the team to help the business and to show how you are unique
